Thanks for your fast reply. You are welcome to post my mesage in its entirety on your site. I am still interested in learning more of Roy's life after I last saw him. Keep me posted on any tidbits that may surface. Meanwhile, I'll think deeper and remember more anecdotes regarding my time with Roy.

I really appreciate the time you took to write me. It seems information on the Cizek speakers is few and far between. Would it be ok if I put your comments on my website? I can remove your name and/or email address if you like. Any other recollections you have about the operation would be eagerly consumed by the die-hards on my website. One of my first sets of speakers was a pair of Cizek Model I's, which at the time, had the biggest woofer magnets I had ever seen and really irritated my parents.

My name is Walter Day and live in Fairfield, Iowa. In 1968, at the age of 19, I left my home in Lynn, Massachusetts to travel the nation with a friend named Ray Dollard.
I somehow ended up in Bloomington, Indiana in October, 1968. By November I was working in the dusty basement of the only movie theatre in Bloomington, where I was employed by Roy Cizek (and his sidekick Ron), making Cizek speakers.
A young minister used to work with us on some days. After working for a few weeks, it was time to go back to Masschusetts for Christmas. Roy was unable to pay me the $68 in wages I had earned, so I left empty handed, never to be paid. Ray Dollard was also not paid.
I never again heard anything of Roy until I discovered your web site. I am somewhat surpised to learn his product got a certain amount of fame. Roy was smart and very capable in spite of his blindness.
I hope things got easier for Roy before he died.
